4 Suspects Sought Following A Dozen Car Break-Ins In Syosset

SYOSSET, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- At least one of several suspects was caught on surveillance camera breaking into cars in Syosset earlier this week.

As WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported, about a dozen cars were broken into in the middle of the night Tuesday on Lorette Drive.

Four men went from driveway to driveway, opening up any vehicle that was left unlocked and stealing cash, jewelry, and in one case a Christmas gift.

One woman said a $400 personal motorized board she bought for her children for Christmas was stolen out of her husband's car.

"It's a hustle and I feel violated," she said.

The woman's neighbor said she had three unlocked cars in her driveway.

"Nothing out of my car. My husband had an iPod in his car. My daughter had four singles in her console. But basically there wasn't really anything valuable," she said.

Another resident told Hall the break-ins show that you always have to be on guard these days.

"A horrendous feeling to know that everywhere you go, you're violated. You have to keep one step ahead," she said.

So far, no arrests have been made.
