Thank You, Dr. Zizmor! NYC's Most-Recognized Dermatologist Retires
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Thanks, Dr. Zizmor!
The Manhattan dermatologist, who once plastered the city's subway cars with rainbow-covered ads promising everyone beautiful and clear skin, has retired.
"I remember them forever and ever. He had nice skin, by the way, in those pictures," said Eve, as she boarded a train at the Kings Highway station on Monday. "I remember them very, very clearly from the days when there was no air conditioning on the subways."
"He said he could give good skincare to anybody," Cynthia from Canarsie said.
Dr. Jonathan Zizmor, who is now 70, also ran television ads featuring happy and fresh-faced clients saying, "Thank you, Dr. Zizmor."
After news of his retirement broke Monday, "Dr. Zizmor" quickly began trending on Twitter.
Zizmor once said the ads were to get everyday New Yorkers into his Upper East Side office, which is now closed.
His Bronx mansion is reportedly on the market for $3 million.
Zizmor now devotes his time to Jewish study and travel, a friend told The Daily News.
