Queens Woman Quit Flight Attendant Job Before Going Missing

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Queens woman quit her job as a flight attendant before she went missing Thursday.

Sierra Shields was last seen leaving LaGuardia Airport on Thursday. The 30-year-old Astoria resident had worked for Shuttle America.

The last person to speak to Shields was her supervisor at the airport, 1010 WINS' Roger Stern reported. Midday on Thursday, Shields quit her job and walked out, leaving her belongings behind.

Earlier, she spoke by phone with her mother and father.

"By the distress and everything that took place on Thursday, she was suffering through something," said her father, Chris Shields.

Police worry the missing woman may be suicidal because she once told her father she could see God on the other side of the East River and wanted to swim across it.

Her family has set up a Facebook page called Find Sierra Shields.
