Trader Joe's Issues Cashew Recall Over Possible Salmonella Contamination
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Specialty grocery store Trader Joe's has issued a recall on a batch of raw cashew pieces after concerns of Salmonella contamination.
According to a statement released by the California based company, the cashews were distributed to store locations in 10 states across the country, including Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York.
Trader Joe's is advising anyone who bought the "Raw Cashew Pieces" with a "best before" date of July 17, 2016 to not eat the product.
Sales of the raw cashew snacks have been suspended in all Trader Joe's locations while an investigation is conducted, the company said.
Trader Joe's issued a similar recall over a batch of raw walnut pieces in March 2015.
