2/4 CBS2 Thursday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis
CBS2 Meteorologist

We'll see more in the way of sun this afternoon, especially north and west of the city, but it will be a struggle temperature-wise with temps holding steady in the mid 50s.

Rain will fill in to our south and east this evening and into the overnight, then change to snow. The snow will likely affect the morning commute, especially to the east, so be prepared for tricky travel conditions. Snowfall amounts around the city aren't looking too impressive, but the potential is there for a couple or even a few inches out on Long Island. After the snow exits in the morning, we'll be left with a chilly breeze... only feeling like the mid 30s.

As for the weekend, it's looking pretty good with highs running several degrees above normal.
