Police: Taxi Driver Beaten, Robbed in The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- New York City police are looking for a man wanted in connection with the assault and robbery of a taxi driver in the Bronx.

The 50-year-old victim was standing in front of his cab at Lawrence Avenue and East 172nd Street around 11:45 p.m. Saturday when police said he was approached by two men.

During a brief argument, police said  one of the men hit the taxi driver in the face with a glass bottle while the other man punched him in the head, knocking him to the ground.

The suspects removed the victim's jacket, which contained $1,000, police said.

Police have released a video of one of the suspects, described as a Hispanic man, 20-25 years old, 5'9" tall, 200 pounds, with hair in a ponytail, and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a dark colored jacket, gray hooded sweater, dark colored baseball cap, light colored jeans and black sneakers.

The other man was arrested on Saturday.
