Man Accused Of Using Dating Apps To Steal From Victims

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. (CBSNewYork)-- A man who made arrangements to meet dates through an app is accused of stealing from one unsuspecting victim, and attempting to steal from another.

Mount Laurel Police said the suspect made arrangements through a dating app to meet with a victim at Dunkin' Donuts on Route 73 near I-295 on February 10th around midnight. Officials said the man then got into the victim's car and directed the victim to drive to a dead end road. Once in a secluded area, the suspect asked to use the victim's phone and then ran off with it toward Route 73.

The same suspect is accused of attempting an identical crime with a separate victim at around 2:30 a.m. This time, the victim refused to hand over his phone and the suspect ran away without any items.
