Man Charged In Deadly Fatal Crash On NJ Turnpike Pleads Not Guilty

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBsNewYork/AP) -- A driver charged in a deadly multi-vehicle crash on the New Jersey Turnpike's Hudson County Extension has pleaded not guilty.

Scott Hahn, 36, of Hamilton is charged with two counts each of aggravated manslaughter and vehicular homicide stemming from a three-vehicle crash Monday in Jersey City that killed 48-year-old Timothy O'Donnell of Bayonne and his 6-year-old daughter Bridget.

O'Donnell was pronounced dead at the scene while Bridget died at Jersey City Medical Center.

As Joe Biermann reported from Chopper 2, the accident happened at 3:19 p.m. on Monday, on the Newark Bay extension of the Turnpike just past toll booth 14C in Jersey City.

A public defender entered a not guilty plea for Hahn on Wednesday, NJ.com reported. A Hudson County judge kept Hahn's bail set at $1 million, saying Hahn is a flight risk.

Prosecutors say Hamilton man told police he took 10 Adderall pills and hadn't slept for more than a day before the crash.

A Motor Vehicle Commission spokeswoman has said Hahn's license has been suspended 28 times, mostly for administrative reasons.
