Jennifer Garner Breaks Silence On Split From Ben Affleck

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)-- Jennifer Garner is finally speaking out about her split from her estranged husband Ben Affleck.

She sat down with Vanity Fair for a candid interview and even addressed "Nanny-Gate."

Garner and Affleck announced their break up after 10 years of marriage last June and just one month later rumors began to swirl that Affleck was cheating with the nanny.

"Jennifer says the nanny was not part of their breakup. They were actually separated months before the announcement came out," Jennifer Peros, senior editor for Entertainment Tonight, told CBS2's Jill Nicolini.

Garner openly spoke to the magazine and revealed the Hollywood couple actually split eight months before "the scandal" broke, saying it was tough keeping her children out of the spotlight.

"She said she had to explain what the word 'scandal' meant to her kids because they started asking her what that meant after hearing it in the news about their parents. So it's been really hard on her and hard on her family, but most of all hard on her kids," Peros said.

The actress admits it was a "year of wine." She tried not to watch any coverage of the breakup and said her and Affleck are still friends.

"Her three children will be home and he'll walk through the front door and she never sees them happier than when their dad is there. She said how can you not be friends with someone like that?" Peros said.

Garner said she has no regrets and would do it all over again. As far as moving forward?

"I don't think you're gonna see Ben and Jen reconciling or getting back together anytime soon. She says she hasn't kissed a man in eight months," Peros revealed.

Garner did admit she was asked out on a date, but said she's definitely not ready for that yet.

"She just needs this time to be alone and focus on what the last year brought for her and just be alone with her kids right now," Peros said.

Garner said it does break her heart thinking about the future and how she wont be dancing with Affleck at their own daughter's wedding.
