Man, Woman Shot At Queens Restaurant; Search On For Gunman

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching Monday night for a suspect who shot and wounded a man and a woman inside a Queens restaurant.

Around 12:25 a.m., a man pulled a gun inside the Rico Chimi fast food restaurant, at 80-01 Atlantic Ave. on the cusp of Woodhaven and Ozone Park, Queens, police said. He fired and shot a 40-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman, police said.

The suspect fled in a newer-model four-door sedan, police said.

The victims were both rushed to Jamaica Hospital and Medical Center, police said. The man suffered gunshot wounds to his leg and hip and his condition was reported as stable, while the woman suffered gunshots to her buttocks and leg and was treated and released.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds, with a light complexion, police said. He was last seen wearing a red mask, a black hooded jacket, black pants and black shoes, police said.

Police have released video of the armed man inside the eatery and the man's vehicle captured at 79-15 Atlantic Ave.
