NJ TRANSIT Delays Easing On Northeast Corridor After Person Hit By Train

TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Delays are easing for Northeast Corridor rail passengers hours after a NJ TRANSIT train struck and killed a man.

NJ TRANSIT said the train was headed for New York's Penn Station Tuesday when it hit the man about 4 miles west of the Jersey Avenue station.

Service was initially suspended between Trenton and Princeton Junction. When it resumed, there were delays of up to an hour during morning rush for NJ TRANSIT and Amtrak trains between Trenton and Metro Park.

The man's name has not been released.
