Police: NYC Man Found With $250,000 Worth Of Cocaine During Traffic Stop

MILFORD, Conn. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police say they've arrested a New York man after finding more than $250,000 worth of cocaine in his car during a traffic stop in Connecticut.

Police stopped 46-year-old Rueben Abreu, of New York City, for speeding around 9 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 95 near exit 35 in Milford.

Officers say they saw indications of narcotics trafficking and asked to search Abreu's car. They found a case containing four vacuum-sealed bricks of a substance believed to be cocaine weighing 8.7 pounds.

The Connecticut Post reports a Fairfield police officer and his K-9 partner assisted with the search.

Abreu is being held on $300,000 bond.

He's scheduled to appear in court Monday.

It's unclear if he's represented by an attorney.
