The Impossible Has Happened: Bartolo Colon Hit A Home Run
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- In what can only be described as a scene out of "The Natural," New York Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon did the impossible – he hit a home run.
Newsday's Marc Carig witnessed the historic event Monday as "Big Sexy" went yard off Mets hitting coach Kevin Long during batting practice.
"Because I didn't trust my own eyes, I asked Kevin Long if Bartolo Colon indeed homered off him in BP. The hitting coach confirms it's true," Carig tweeted.
Yes, the man who swings a bat like this …
… went yard.
And not only that, but Colon's rocket took out a poor, innocent tree in the process.
"Bartolo Colon just took out a tree branch with a batting practice … home run," Carig tweeted.
We can only hope Colon trotted around the bases like this after homering.
Colon does have a Silver Slugger Award clause in his contract with the Mets.
