Bicyclist Taken To Bellevue Following Midtown Stabbing

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A bicyclist was stabbed and slashed by a pedestrian near 31st Street and Eighth Avenue on Friday night, police said.

According to authorities, the attack took place just before 8:30 p.m. at the site near Madison Square Garden and Penn Station.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Bellevue Hospital Center, police said.

The motive for the stabbing was unknown.

The victim was expected to recover.
