New Surveillance Video Released Of Suspect In Armed Robbery Of 91-Year-Old Brooklyn Woman

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police have released new surveillance video of a suspect wanted in a violent armed robbery of a 91-year-old woman in Brooklyn.

The incident happened around 1 p.m. on March 2.

Police said victim Elizabeth Gioino was tackled from behind by an armed man in the vestibule of her Park Slope brownstone.

"He hit me, he said 'shut up, shut up.' He choked me," Gioino told CBS2. "I said, 'Please leave me alone! I'm a sick woman! I'm old enough! Leave me alone!' He choked me three times."

A neighbor who tried to intervene was also robbed at gunpoint, police said.

Police believe the same man is responsible for pistol-whipping and robbing a 71-year-old woman on Sixth Avenue and Prospect Place last month.

The reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction has climbed to $3,500.

Police describe the suspect as a black man, about 5'10" tall and 250 pounds between the ages of 40 and 50. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweater, a black jacket, a black wool cap, black gloves, light-colored pants and dark-colored shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, visit the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
