Stars Turn Out For 'Batman vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice'
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The highly anticipated "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" was just days away from hitting theaters Monday.
As CBS2's Jill Nicolini reported, the starts turned out Sunday night for a red-carpet premier at Radio City Music Hall.
In the film, Ben Affleck takes over the role of Batman, and is convinced his rival Superman is now a threat to humanity.
The actor said his kids loved the film.
"My son, in particular, really believes that I am Batman. My daughters, I think, wish that I was playing Harry Potter. I had to explain to them I really am too old for Harry Potter," Affleck said. "I think this staves off my kids being embarrassed of me for another year or two."
Henry Cavill reprises his role as Clark Kent and Amy Adams plays Lois Lane. Batman's ally, Wonder Woman, also joins the cast and is rumored to be a big inspiration to Bruce Wayne.
"Batman's got an attitude problem, so he's going to have a problem with everyone," Cavill said. "Does it take a woman to set him straight? I wouldn't say that. I would say it's just about us coming to terms with the necessity of the other."
Israeli actress Gal Gadot plays Wonder Woman, and said it was the role of her dreams.
"Ever since I became an actress, I always wanted to show the stronger side of women," Gadot said. "Wonder Woman is such an iconic, huge, inspiring character and I feel like it's not about me. I'm just a vessel who got the opportunity to tell the story to the outside world."
Another iconic DC character, Lex Luthor, also returns. He is played by Jesse Eisneberg.
As Superman's archenemy he launches his own battle against the Man of Steel.
Critics have been banned on speaking about the film until Tuesday. It opens on Friday.
