Man, Woman Sought In Robbery Of Livery Cab Driver In Harlem
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Monday were searching for a man and woman in the robbery of a livery cab driver in Harlem late last month.
Around 7:35 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, the 59-year-old livery cab driver picked up the pair and Bleecker and Christopher streets in Greenwich Village, police said.
When the driver stopped at 145th Street and Lenox Avenue in Harlem, the man took cash from the center console, began punching the livery cab driver in the face, and threatened to kill him, police said.
The man and woman fled north a Lenox Avenue toward 147th Street, police said.
The driver suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention at the scene, police said.
The man who attacked the driver was described as black and about 22 to 25 years old, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 150 to 170 pounds with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket with a black winter hat, police said.
A witness took a photo of the alleged assailant before he ran off.
The woman with the attacker was described as black and about 20 to 25 years old, standing 5 feet 4 to 5 feet 6 inches tall with a medium complexion.
