Roof Collapses As Fire Rips Through Building In Lyndhurst, New Jersey

LYNDHURST, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- An extra-alarm fire was raging early Friday evening in an apartment building in Lyndhurst, New Jersey.

The fire broke out in the two-story building at 215 Stuyvesant Ave. in Lyndhurst, which houses businesses on the first floor and apartments on the second, Joe Biermann reported from Chopper 2.

Firefighters had to fight the blaze from the outside as the roof collapsed. Orange flames were seen shooting from the roof.

One firefighter was treated for minor burns by emergency medical technicians, but was not thought to have been taken to a hospital, Biermann reported.
