Ready, Set, Go! Kids Search For Sweets At Sutton Place Park Easter Egg Hunt

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)-- If you have kids, chances are an Easter egg hunt is in your plans this weekend.

Like they always say, the early bunny gets the egg. Inexperienced hunters beware because some kids searching for the goods are already well-prepared.

"I just usually go to the back corner in the beginning," one child told CBS2's Magdalena Doris.

Strategy is everything.

At Sutton Place Park on the Upper West Side, there's enough to go around thanks to a few helpers. About 1,500 eggs were scattered there.

With all those eggs, you'll need some way to carry them. While some may opt for the classic basket, 10-year-old Phoebe is sporting a fashionable and secure option.

"The baskets, they just kind of fall out, but we got a bunch and they're not coming out... so these are the way to go," she said.

And if you're savvy, or cute enough, Grandmas can become a perfect carry-all.

"I've got all the empties, he took all the candy!" one grandmother told CBS2.

Egg hunters might disagree on who lays the treasures, but kids agree the shells are just the delivery guys for the good stuff: candy.

If the Easter egg hunt has taught us anything, it's that what's inside matters.
