Tom Coughlin Says He Won't Be Working For Giants In 2016

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Tom Coughlin's days with the Giants appear to be over for good.

After the two-time Super Bowl-winning coach resigned in January, Giants co-owner John Mara said Coughlin had agreed to help the Giants in some capacity in the future. According to reports, the team offered him a consultant job.

But at Wednesday night's Mike & the Mad Dog reunion show at Radio City Music Hall, WFAN's Mike Francesa asked Coughlin if he would still be working for the Giants in 2016.

"I don't think so. No," Coughlin answered.

"There's not been a lot of discussion about that," he added. "I don't really see how once the decision was made ... move on is what I think I'm saying."

Coughlin, 69, made it clear at his farewell news conference that he hoped to continue working in football, preferably as a coach. The Philadelphia Eagles interviewed him, but he later removed himself from consideration. The San Francisco 49ers also interviewed Coughlin, but hired Chip Kelly instead.

"I know I can coach," Coughlin said Wednesday. "It's just if that opportunity is going to come."

When asked if he might do television next season, Coughlin replied: "I don't know. I'm going to talk and listen to a couple of things."
