NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- "Please swipe again."

Who hasn't seen those dreaded three words while swiping a MetroCard?

Apparently Hillary Clinton has as well.

The former Secretary of State and current Democratic presidential candidate struggled while trying to gain entry into a subway turnstile in the Bronx on Thursday.

Clinton made an unscheduled appearance in the Bronx. She was outside Yankee Stadium talking to reporters before taking a short subway ride with borough president Ruben Diaz.

Clinton said she last rode the subway a year and a half ago.

"I love it because it's so convenient," she said. "It's the best way to get around."

Both Clinton and her Democratic challenger Sen. Bernie Sanders have been campaigning in New York ahead of the April 19 primary.
