Power Goes Out In Section Of Penn Station

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Power went out Thursday evening in a section of Penn Station.

The outage began around 5 p.m., and affected an area of the railway depot near the No. 1, 2 and 3 subway station at 34th Street and Seventh Avenue, officials said.

No train service was affected.

The FDNY was not sent to the scene, and there were no evacuations.

Power was restored by 7:30 p.m. after two and a half hours.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Con Edison and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey were unable to provide information, but said an internal building issue was likely to blame for the outage.
