Police: New Cassel, L.I. Boy, 13, Has Been Missing Since Monday

NEW CASSEL, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Nassau County police late Friday were searching from a 13-year-old boy who has been missing since Monday morning.

Amari Young was last seen at 6 a.m. Monday leaving his home in New Cassel, police said.

Police have been investigating several accounts that had him at a local park and middle school in Westbury.

Amari's mother said he packed a bag the night before and then disappeared.

Amari's mother made an emotional plea Friday night, hoping her son was watching.

"Amari come home. Just come home," the boy's mother said. "Whatever it is that, you know, you have going on personally, mommy's here for you, you know, and she just wants to talk to you. She wants to know that you're OK, and I just want him home."

Anyone with information was asked to call the Nassau County police Missing Persons Squad at (516) 573-7347, or to call 911.
