Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Honors New Inductees At Barclays Center

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame held its 31st annual induction ceremony at the Barclays Center Friday evening.

As 1010 WINS' Darius Radzius reported, rock and roll fans descended on the Brooklyn stadium hoping to hear some good music.

"Amazing – every year it's amazing," said one Mastic Beach man.

The inductees this year include Cheap Trick, the band Chicago, Deep Purple, N.W.A., and Steve Miller.

The ceremony also honored late songwriter and record producer Bert Berns with the Ahmet Ertegun Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Kendrick Lamar, Kid Rock, the Black Keys, Rob Thomas, and Lars Ulrich of Metallica were set to be among the special guests.

Grace from Brooklyn was excited to hear all her favorite bands in one place.

"Big Steve Miller Band fan, love Chicago, grew up on Chicago; love Rob Thomas and he's going to perform from Chicago," she said.

There have been a total of 319 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees – counting both individuals and bands, according to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website.
