New Jersey Police Officer Saves 3 Lives In 10 Days

BURLINGTON COUNTY, N.J. (CBSNewYork)-- One New Jersey police officer is truly a hero after single-handily saving three lives in 10 days. And now he's getting a heart-felt hug in an emotional meeting with the son of a woman he saved.

Officer Brian Strockbine saved Pete's Corelli's mother after police said her husband tried to kill her, CBS2's David Spunt reports.

"We are able to still hug her and for that my family is forever grateful," Corelli told CBS2.

On March 8, Strockbrine got a call about a woman who appeared to be dead on the front lawn. She was brutally beaten, had no pulse, and wasn't breathing.

Strockbrine started CPR and after three minutes, she started breathing. The 69-year-0ld wants to keep her name private, but told police her husband attempted to kill her.

"We don't do this job to be thanked or for the recognition. I love being a police officer and that day made me so proud," Strockbrine said.

In another incident, smoke filled a car and a man inside was unconscious. Strockbrine broke the car window and brought the man to safety.

Just five days after that, the brave officer revived another woman who was unconscious.

"That day I was so proud to be a police officer. I was proud to work for this department. It reminded me of why I wanted to do this," Strockbrine said.

And those he directly impacted insist, he's more than Evesham Township officer of the month, he's a hero, one responsible for saving three lives in ten days.

"I didn't realize how emotional something like that would be. Just because, I was able to make a real impact on somebody's life," he said.
