WATCH: Shark Knocks Surfer Off Paddle Board

JUPITER, Fla. (CBSNewYork) -- A surfer in Florida captures on video a shark knocking him off his paddle board.

Maximo Trinidad was riding waves on his paddle board in Jupiter when a shark unexpectedly collided with him.

It was all captured on Trinidad's Go-Pro camera.

"He landed on the side of my board and then I had to like jump over him so I won't get bitten," he said. "It's just a matter of a couple of feet. I mean, I could have ended up on top of him."

Trinidad said his encounter should not stop people from enjoying the ocean and that it's just a reminder to be aware of your surroundings.
