WFAN's Eddie Coleman: Matt Harvey's Struggles 'Perplexing'
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Matt Harvey's struggles to start the season are "perplexing" to WFAN's Eddie Coleman.
Coleman told Mike Francesa Monday that the Mets pitching ace "has not been himself."
"The perplexing thing to me is that at times, I remember two starts ago, he retired 10 in a row, and was knocking them out left and right, and all of a sudden, it blew off on him in the sixth inning," Coleman explained. "This game he gets 13 out in a row, he's cruising along, and all of a sudden, he hits a speed bump and gives up a couple in the fifth and three more in the sixth. It's weird how it just seems to be there and then gone in a flash."
Harvey gave up five runs over the fifth and sixth innings in Saturday's loss to the Cleveland Indians 7-5.
Coleman believes that Harvey has been affected from a "little unsteady work during spring training."
