Giants Re-Sign Pro Bowl Kicker Josh Brown

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The New York Giants have re-signed Pro Bowl placekicker Josh Brown.

The Giants announced the signing on Monday, although Brown said he agreed to the deal last week.

"This is right where I wanted to be, this is the team I wanted to continue to play for," Brown told Giants.com. "I love the organization, and would enjoy playing here for the duration until I'm done."

Contract terms were not immediately available.

Brown scored a career-high 134 points, the fifth-highest total in the NFL and the fourth-highest total in Giants history. His previous best was 127 points with Seattle in 2007. He made 30 of 32 field goal attempts last season, a franchise-record 93.8 percent success rate, and he has hit 77 of 84 field goal tries in his three seasons with the team.

"I'm comfortable here, I kick well here," Brown told Giants.com. "I didn't want to put myself in a position to where that wasn't going to be an option and try to price myself out of the position. I'm glad it's done.

"A lot of it (his success here) is maturity, understanding my body, and understanding the way that I kick, and how the ball moves and flies in this stadium."

Brown has scored 350 points with the Giants, moving past Raul Allegre (340) and Amani Toomer (348) and into ninth place on the franchise's career list.
