Bronx Man Rescues Cat Stuck 7 Stories High In Tree
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A Bronx man risked his life to save a cat stuck high in a tree.
Pedro Rosario, founder of New Beginning Animal Rescue, said the cat was stuck in the trees for five days.
Rosario said after numerous calls to the NYPD and FDNY, rescue workers arrived Tuesday to assess the situation.
They were concerned that the thin branches at the top of the approximately 7-story tree were too dangerous for them to climb on and would jeopardize their safety, according to Rosario.
Rosario then got a ladder and climbed the tree.
Video shows Rosario recovering the cat and then dropping it into a sheet held tight by area residents below.
The cat was taken to a veterinarian where it received treatment for dehydration. It was then returned to its owner.
