Manlift Crashes Into Building On Lower East Side

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)-- A manlift, or cherry picker, crashed into a building in Lower Manhattan Monday evening.

The incident happened at a building on Essex Street near Rivington Street, WCBS 880 reported.

New York City Department of Buildings officials said their crews responded to the scene and that there are no injuries reported. There is minor damage to the sixth floor window, officials said.

FDNY said there are some street closures and to expect traffic delays or use alternate routes near Essex and Rivington.

There did not appear to be any major structural damage or evacuations issued.

The DOB issued a stop work order on the grounds of a failure to safeguard the site during construction operations.
