5/1 CBS2 Sunday Afternoon Weather Headlines

Happy May! You'll need the umbrellas out there today and actually, you'll want them on standby all week. Steady rain this afternoon will slowly start to break up heading into this evening, but unfortunately it's pretty much a washout. We really do need it though, as much of the area is now abnormally dry on the drought monitor with just over a 4-inch deficit for the year.

After temps struggle to get out of the upper 40s and low 50s today, they won't drop off much overnight -- 40s for just about everyone. Scattered showers will still be around tonight, maybe even a rumble or two.

The entire week ahead looks unsettled with several shower chances. Monday will see some showers and storms, but it won't be a widespread soaking like today. We're going to be in the vicinity of a warm front. It looks like we'll get into the upper 60s, but if the front has trouble pushing closer to the city, we may stay in the lower 60s. Temps stay seasonable for the remainder of the week, but it looks like limited sunshine.
