200 People Gather In Union Square For May Day Protests

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Nearly 200 people gathered in Union Square for the cause of workers' rights on Sunday for May Day.

"We must carry on the struggles in the spirit of May Day," one speaker said.

Matthew, from Bushwick, Brooklyn, told 1010 WINS' Roger Stern that the prospect of a Donald Trump presidency is particularly alarming.

"He will set back everything that President Obama did for us," Matthew said.

However, others like Kurt said Hillary Clinton would be no better than Trump.

"I don't think that there's a winner," Kurt said. "I think you have to go third party."

Kurt added that the two front-runners for the Democratic and Republican parties would inflict similar damage.
