Students On Edge Following Alleged Groping Incident At Stony Brook University

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- An alleged groping incident inside a Stony Brook University bathroom has left some students on edge.

Students and staff at the university were notified of the incident, that happened around 3:40 p.m. Saturday in the Social and Behavioral Sciences building.

University Police said a graduate student was approached inside a bathroom in the Social and Behavioral Sciences Building and groped. The victim told police she was able to push the man away and run from the bathroom.

"It is worrisome and you don't see a lot of security walking around, so you start to wonder, like, which building is safe, which building is not?" one student told WCBS 880's Mike Xirinachs.

School officials said they have increased campus security.

Meanwhile, police have identified the suspect as 33-year-old Miguel Angel Condori.
