NYPD: Car Sought In Upper West Side Chain Reaction Crash That Left 4 People Hurt

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police have released a photo of a car they say is being sought in connection with a chain reaction crash on the Upper West Side that left four people injured, including one critically.

The crash, which involved a black Honda sedan, a taxi, a Con Edison van and a food cart, happened just after 4:30 p.m. Monday in the area of West 62 Street and Broadway.

Police said the Honda was speeding northbound on Broadway when it rear-ended the taxi, forcing the cab to jump the curb where it hit four pedestrians, knocked over the food cart and hit the Con Edison van that was parked on the street.

Cab driver Michael Parvaz said he had just picked up two passengers when he was hit.

"He hit one time then I put the brake, and he again hit me, then I lost control," Parvaz said.

CBS2 obtained exclusive cellphone video of the scene shot moments after the crash. It showed the food truck on its side, and the injured pedestrians down on the pavement.
