Carmelo Anthony On Knicks Future: 'You'll See Me Here'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Carmelo Anthony has previously indicated that, in his eyes, this summer's free agency period is key. He also has expressed concerns with the way team president Phil Jackson has been conducting his coaching search.

Despite all that, the Knicks star insisted Wednesday he's not going anywhere any time soon.

Appearing at a TechCrunch conference in Brooklyn, Anthony was asked by Yahoo Finance if he expected to be back with the Knicks next season.

"You'll see me here," Anthony said. "For the Knicks, absolutely."

Anthony was promoting his tech company, Melo7 Tech Partners, and only granted interviews to business and finance reporters.

He has said he wants to remain a Knick but also wants to win a title before he retires. He would have to waive his no-trade clause to be dealt to another team.

A spokesperson told Newsday he didn't say much about the Knicks' coaching situation.

However, according to a New York Post report, Anthony is intrigued by the idea of the team hiring former Cavaliers coach David Blatt. A person familiar with Anthony's thinking said the nine-time All-Star believes Blatt, a coach of the year in leagues in Israel, Russia and Europe, could help develop 7-foot-3 Latvian Kristaps Porzingis.

In 1½ seasons with the Cavaliers, Blatt went 83-40 and reached the NBA Finals.

The Knicks met with Blatt last month. Jackson is also considering promoting Kurt Rambis, who went 9-19 as the interim coach this season after Derek Fisher was fired.
