30 With Murti Podcast: Jim Kaat, A Baseball Lifer And A Gentleman

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Jim Kaat pitched in the majors from 1959 to 1983.

In addition to racking up 283 wins and pitching in two World Series (1965 and 1982), Kaat was regarded as one of the best hitters and fielders at his position. He won 16 Gold Gloves in his career, a record for pitchers that stood until the tail-end of Hall of Famer Greg Maddux's career.

As a broadcaster, Kaat is well known for his work at the national level for CBS on the World Series. Locally, Kaat worked Yankees games on both MSG and YES. He is now back on national broadcasts with MLB Network.

Kaat is regarded as one of the game's great gentlemen and a wonderful storyteller. WFAN Yankees beat reporter Sweeny Murti sat with him at Yankee Stadium before last week's Yankees-Red Sox series and came away with yet another entertaining episode of his "30 With Murti" podcast.
