WATCH: Washington Post Columnist 'Literally' Eats Own Words After Saying Trump Won't Be Nominee

WASHINGTON (CBSNewYork) -- A Washington Post columnist literally ate his own words thanks to presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump.

Last October, Dana Milbank wrote that he would eat his column if Trump secured the GOP nomination.

"In fact, I'm so certain Trump won't win the nomination that I'll eat my words if he does. Literally: The day Trump clinches the nomination I will eat the page on which this column is printed in Sunday's Post," Milbank wrote.

And Thursday, Milbank had to pay the price as he ate a nine-course meal, prepared by Del Campo Chef Victor Albisu, which included falafel, steaks, chilaquiles and a taco bowl.

"Here we are at the Washington Post world headquarters for a very sad moment. I'm seated, ready to eat my words, literally, from what I wrote last Oct. 4 saying if Donald Trump wins the Republican nomination I would eat the page this column was written," Milbank said.

Milbank helped wash down the meal with what else but Trump Wine.

"It was not all that painful," Milbank said in a Facebook video. "And certainly anywhere near as painful as it's going to be over the next six months."
