Fat Joe: Anthony Mason Was Knicks Player In Biggie's 'I Got A Story To Tell'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The world finally knows the New York Knicks player Notorious B.I.G. was referencing in "I Got A Story To Tell."

Biggie raps in the song that he is having sex with the girlfriend of a Knicks player when the player comes home early, with Biggie ending up pulling a gun on him.

On Monday, hip-hop artist Fat Joe, a good friend of Biggie's, revealed that it was former Knicks star Anthony Mason the song was referring to.

"What I heard was it was about Anthony Mason, that was the rumor," Fat Joe told ESPN's "Highly Questionable." "That was a very strong possibility rumor it was about Anthony Mason."

Fat Joe added, "But you gotta also know, this is entertainment, we stretch the truth, we change things up."

Mason died of a heart attack in February 2015.

The song was on Biggie's classic "Life After Death" album, which was released in March 1997, following his death.
