Report: Colon Being Sued For Child Support By Woman Who's Not His Wife

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon is accused of being a deadbeat dad to two children he fathered with a woman who is not his wife, according to a report.

Alexandra Santos, 38, of Washington Heights, has filed a lawsuit alleging that Colon is the father of her 7-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son and has not been paying child support, the New York Post reported Wednesday.

Colon, 42, appeared in a Manhattan court Monday and is due back next month.

The case was listed in official papers as "Anonymous v. Anonymous," but Colon's name was exposed because he briefly represented himself in the custody dispute, the Post reported.

Colon has never publicly acknowledged the children he had with Santos. He also has four sons with his wife of 21 years, who lives in Clifton, New Jersey.

Rosanna Colon confirmed to the Post that she has known about her husband's second family for some time but would not elaborate.

Colon is being paid $7.25 million this season and has earned nearly $96 million over his career, according to Baseball-Reference.com.

"Mr. Colon obviously is a very talented baseball player and he earns a significant income, and we believe that his children should share in the lifestyle they would have enjoyed had their parents remained together," Santos' attorney Evan Schein told the Post.

Colon's attorney did not return multiple messages left by the newspaper seeking comment.
