NYPD Officer Accused Of Assault Gets Arrested For DUI

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)-- An NYPD officer already arrested once is now in trouble again.

Fellow officers arrested 29-year-old Officer Eugene Donnelly Sunday morning, charging him with driving drunk. He was found trapped in his car, which had crashed and flipped over on Riverside Drive.

Donnelly was honored by Mayor Bill de Blasio and Commissioner Bill Bratton in 2014 for his work as an officer back in June of 2014. The next day he was accused of breaking into a woman's apartment in the Bronx as she slept and repeatedly punched her.

Donnelly is currently suspended without pay for the alleged drunk driving incident.
