Man Caught On Video Painting Swastika On NYC Building, NYPD Says

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is searching for a man who allegedly spray-painted anti-Semitic images on the side of a building in downtown Manhattan earlier this year.

According to police, the suspect was caught on surveillance video spray painting the images on a building at 101 Leonard Street in Tribeca at around 3:25 a.m. on April 23. The suspect then fled the scene, heading towards Broadway.

Photos of the images reveal a swastika next to a Jewish star above the words "It's a viscious cycle."

Surveillance video of the suspect can be viewed above.

The suspect is described by the NYPD as having short black hair and was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket with dark shorts, and a black cross-over backpack.

The NYPD is asking anyone with information on the incident to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS or by visiting the Crime Stoppers website.
