Woman In Need Of Liver Transplant Just 6 Years After Double Lung Transplant

SOUTH HUNTINGTON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork)-- A South Huntington community is rallying for a woman in need of a liver transplant.

Alanna, 25, is waiting to get on the list for a liver transplant. Just six years ago, she had a double lung transplant due to cystic fibrosis while in high school.

She told 1010 WINS she had to stay in the hospital for 67 days during that period and that her life was looking up until she began having liver complications about a year ago.

"The last few weeks have been a little bit tough. Some days of the week I don't feel good or I don't remember things," Alanna told 1010 WINS.

A friend help set up a GoFundMe page for donations to cover her hospital needs and for transportation back and forth to the hospital. The money will also help sustain the young woman, who has been out of work due to complications.
