LISTEN: Francesa Says 'Nothing Is Working' For Mets

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- WFAN's Mike Francesa called the Braves' sweep this past weekend "an embarrassment" for the Mets.

"The Saturday game, which was an utter disaster, not only from blowing a 3-0 lead with (Steven) Matz on the mound, but to the fact that you have a play where, let's be honest, you cannot get (Wilmer) Flores thrown out at the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning down a run," Francesa said on his show Monday. "(James) Loney hits up the gap. Unless he can score standing up, you do not send Flores to the plate. You have no outs, (runners on) second and third in a one-run game against a bad team.

"Add in the fact that the Mets finish up two games against the Braves where they don't hit and don't give (Matt) Harvey any support -- what else is new? -- and then they give away a game in so many different ways on Saturday night, what was the worst loss of the season.

"This team right now, nothing -- nothing -- is working."
