Police: Multi-Vehicle Crash On I-84 Leaves 1 Dead, Several Injured In Orange County
MONTGOMERY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Part of Interstate 84 in Orange County was closed for several hours Wednesday after a multiple-vehicle crash that left one person dead and several others injured.
New York State Police said the crash happened around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday near Exit 5 in Montgomery.
Police said one death is confirmed while a number of injured are being treated. According to Montgomery police, the crash involved at least five cars and a tractor-trailer.
All westbound lanes on I-84 at Exit 5 by mile marker 28 are closed and drivers are being urged to find alternate routes.
The section of I-84 where the accident happened was closed for several hours, but had reopened with no delays by 7:20 p.m.
The crash happened just a few miles east of where another multiple-vehicle crash shut down I-84's westbound lanes for four hours Monday.
