STAMFORD, Conn. (CBSNewYork) -- A 2-month-old girl died after a 911 call from her daycare in Stamford, Connecticut this week, and police have launched a homicide investigation.

Emergency workers responded to the Little Bears Beginners Daycare on Wardell Street on Tuesday afternoon, where they found evidence that Bella Redondo had head trauma and breathing issues.

They rushed her to Stamford Hospital where she stopped breathing, but doctors were unable to revive her.

Police confirmed late Wednesday that they were investigating Bella's death as a homicide.
