WATCH: Bubba Watson, Oakley Unveil Jetpack Golf Cart

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Using a run-of-the-mill golf cart might become a thing of the past if Bubba Watson gets his way.

The two-time Masters champ has teamed up with sunglasses maker Oakley on a flying golf cart.

In an online video, Watson introduces "Bubba's Jetpack," also known as the BW-Air, which features two large fans and a 210-horsepower engine capable of flying up to 3,000 feet at nearly 50 mph and making vertical takeoffs and landings.

"The biggest advantage I see is the bird's-eye view," Watson, who is representing Team USA in the Olympics next month, says in the video. "It's going to give you perspective that you've been missing. You're looking at the course, how to play the course and how to shoot lower scores. It's almost an unfair advantage."

He said it would also speed up rounds.

The vehicle, designed in partnership with jetpack manufacturer Martin Aircraft Co., holds just one person and starts at $200,000. Martin will begin shipping the vehicles to first responder customers later this year and to the general public in late 2017.

Proper training and certifications are required. Not to mention the country club would have to give the BW-Air the green light.

It's not the first time Watson and Oakley have gotten together for an extravagant idea. In 2013, the two parties unveiled "Bubba's Hover," an all-terrain golf cart.
