Girardi On WFAN: Watching Chapman 'One Of The Most Incredible Things That I Have Seen In The Game Of Baseball'
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- In his weekly segment with WFAN's Mike Francesa on Wednesday, Yankees manager Joe Girardi marveled at flame-throwing closer Aroldis Chapman.
According to MLB.com's Statcast, Chapman hit 105.1 mph on the radar gun Monday night against Baltimore. He threw four other pitches that night that surpassed 104.

"One of the most incredible things that I have seen in the game of baseball is when I watch him warm up and how quick his arm is," Girardi said.
Not only can Chapman throw extremely hard, he's a gamer who has said he wouldn't mind pitching in five straight games.
"I'm not going to pitch him five days in a row," Girardi said. "I think the limit is three, maybe four -- I don't know. I don't feel that's fair to do to him. But I pitched him three times in a row this year and when I gave him the day off on the fourth day, he was mad."
Chapman isn't the only hurler on the Yankees' staff who can bring the heat. Nathan Eovaldi and Dellin Betances have eclipsed 101 mph this season, and Andrew Miller has hit 98 mph.
"It's really incredible, and it's nice to have these power arms because with that comes a lot of strikeouts," Girardi said. "And with strikeouts, you can get into jams and you can get out of them."
