'All Lives Matter' Chants Break Out At Republican National Convention
CLEVELAND (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Chants of "All Lives Matter" filled the arena at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland on Thursday night.
Mark Burns, a pastor from South Carolina, led the chant. He said Donald Trump won't "pander" to one race.
"Under Donald Trump and under a Donald Trump administration -- all lives matter," Burns told a raucous crowd.
He continued, "Donald Trump is not going to pander after no one race. His heart is after the human race."
Burns also called on the GOP to listen to the problems of people in disenfranchised communities in the country. He said that more than anything, they want jobs.
"Despite the color you were born with, here in America, the only colors in America that matter are red, white and blue," Burns said.
The "All Lives Matter" chant is often used by conservatives to counter the Black Lives Matter movement, which has called attention to police violence against African-Americans.
