LISTEN: Francesa Says Marlins Series 'Big' For Mets

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- This weekend's series at Miami is a key one for the Mets, WFAN's Mike Francesa said Friday.

"They're not in a good place right now," Francesa said of the Mets. "They're rotation is hurting. It's suspect in spots.

"The Mets went through a period where it was very unlikely that they did not have the matchup on the mound every single night. They got very used to having the matchup on the mound almost every single game they pitched. Now they don't have that right now. Now they also have some questions with injuries and guys that need to get going."

The Mets (50-44) currently sit in third place in the National League East, six games behind the division-leading Nationals and 1½ games back of the Marlins for second place as well as the second wild-card spot.
