Passengers Stuck For An Hour When Newark Airport AirTrain Breaks Down

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Passengers were stuck for about an hour on an AirTrain for Newark Liberty International Airport when the train broke down Wednesday night.

The train became disabled around 9:15 p.m., and power was cut to the tracks, officials told CBS2.

Passengers were rescued by Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police and track workers after they were stuck on the train for about an hour, officials said.

The passengers were transported back to Terminal C, officials said.

It was not known why train broke down.

There were no injuries, officials said.
